Time Flies
My goodness where does the time go.
Mom is enjoying her new digs. We have it set up nice an cozy and she is happy with it. Slowly but surely we are getting our garage back to "normal", well it never was normal but more normal than lately.
We were invited a couple of weeks ago to a 70th birthday party of a friend we have known since the early 60's. It was up in Comox and we got to see quite a few friends we haven't seen for awhile, almost like a mini reunion. Very enjoyable. Denny's birthday was the same day as Alan's, but since it was a Wednesday there was no conflict. That following weekend we took Lyn and Alan out for dinner at Il Terrazo for a very fine meal, and we presented him with his bottle of Macallan 12 Scotch for his 50th birthday.
Noni has been down to Victoria a couple of times with work so we got to see her. She has decided that it was time for her a John to go their separate ways. Most unfortunate, but she is much happier than when they were together. They did the counselling thing and it did wonders for her, not so much for him. C'est la vie.
Grandma Viv had decided to send out A$1,000 each to all her children, grand-children and Great- grandchildren. That was met with varying degrees of excitement. She hopes they all put it to good use, which I am sure they will. Of course I had to organize it all, and it took a chunk of change, but like she says it wasn't doing much for her sitting in her account. They might as well get some use out of it now, rather than later. She got a lot of attention by way of phone calls, cards and emails of thanks from those that appreciated it.
We also attended our annual Chinese food fest at the Ofner's and as usual it was a big success.
We are now awaiting Jack and the boys, they will be arriving early next week from Oklahoma and will be here for about a 8 days before heading back. Grandma Viv is particularly anxious to see them as it has been two year since she saw her "baby" and his kiddies.
