Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday
Happy Thanksgiving to our American Friends.
Monday, Mom, Carolyn and I went to Vancouver, to see, Remy, Margot, Joel and Catherine. Added bonus, Catherine's sister was there as well as Chelsea and her squeeze, Cole. It was a very nice visit all around. Catherine made some excellent Taco's for dinner and Remy provided the entertainment, playing, reading and singing. We, again, celebrated Nana's 92nd birthday with a cake, and she got some beautiful handcrafted jewellery from Catherine. Though Nana bought Remy a doll for Christmas she insisted Remy open it right away while she was there to see her delight in doing so. Yep a great day.
Another added bonus is that we missed the bad weather in Victoria where it snowed to the extent that we had a 12 car pile up at one of the major intersections. The highways and Vancouver missed the brunt of it. We got out of Victoria just in time and it was all over by the time we got back. However, we got one of the smaller ferries and was parked near the front of the OPEN deck. The crossing was rough enough and cold enough that I had to scrape frozen salt spray off the car when we return to the car deck. First mild day I must rinse off the car thoroughly.
Mom really enjoyed it all, and like last time it didn't seem to tire her at all.
Tomorrow (26th) is Jack's birthday, double nickel (55). Happy Birthday Jack from all of us in Victoria.
TTFN, Ciao and Peace.

Happy Birthday Mother
Mom will be 92 tomorrow. So Happy Birthday to her. She is doing well. She has been better lately than she has been since she moved here. After her stroke of two years ago, broken hip of one year ago and congestive heart failure this spring, it is a wonder she is still going. But she recovered nicely and except for being wheelchair bound (she can still get herself in and out of it) she is a going concern. We still play cribbage when I go over. She still wants to get out and about. We had her over a couple of weeks ago and she doesn't miss a thing, she noticed that there was a new picture up, and she wanted to see our new rug in the bedroom. Mentally, still sharp. Tomorrow we will have her over so available family can drop in, then we will go to a restaurant for dinner. She likes getting out. We would normally go to My Chosen cafe, but it is a ways out of town and we are supposed to get SNOW,, aaarrggghhh. So we are staying closer to home. Lyn and Alan are in Hawaii and won't be back until midnight tomorrow night so they will see her later. It'll be a shock for them to come from Hawaii to SNOW, aaaarrrggghhh. Time to head South.........
Mom recently cross-stiched four Christmas trees on a gingham table cloth for Jack, and is currently doing coasters. Her weak right arm from the stroke is still slowly improving. She is really amazing. She is also quite accustomed to the Care home; having ade several friends and is much more comfortable with us leaving to head south.
And Monday we are making another trip to Vancouver. The three of us will head out on a morning ferry to visit Catherine, Margot, Joel and Remy. We will return the same day in the evening. Considering this includes two 2 hour ferry rides, it will be a long day. But Mom had no problem last time, and I suspect she won't this time either.
The sad news of the day is that David and Tena had to put their dog Tyson down today. He was a good old dog, but has had hip problems of late and they gave out last night. He had a good life, but they are all sad today and our thoughts and love go out to them all.
TTFN, Ciao.
Peace.

Happy Birthday Carolyn
Its Carolyn's 69th today. So a big Happy Birthday to her.
Lyn and Rachel took her out for lunch the other day, for her birthday, before Lyn and Alan left for Hawaii. They are now there enjoying themselves in a nice cabin on the Island of Kauai. She phoned today to give Carolyn an update and wish her Happy Birthday yet again. We will be having a quiet dinner at home. I'm doing the cooking, which means I will be picking up Chinese; and I'll get Mom as well. Rob was to come over as well, as he is a temporary bachelor while Sue is away for a week, however, he just called and is not well, and won't be able to make it. He is on strong anti- biotics and thus can't be far from a toilet.
We had a very enjoyable visit with Ken and Helen. They are such wonderful hosts. Their kitchen remodel is so nice, too nice, its giving Carolyn ideas. Of course the girls went shopping while Ken and I visited the McChord Air museum and OK we did Costco and the Base Exchange too.
Mom is doing well. Still beating me at Crib, well at least occasionally. Gave me a skunk the other day. She has decided to change her hairdo, and now is trying bangs, as you can see in the picture.
So that's about it for now. Take care all & Peace.
