Mom out on a day pass yet again

Mom's glasses were ready so we went to pick them up, and she loves them, (Wheww!) thank goodness. They do look good on her, and she enjoyed escaping the hospital again. She had pizza and a donut (bad girl), but at her age she don't really care. We brought her home where she made a few phone calls, catching up with things. Pat, one of the family, had passes away in Red Deer, so there was some reminiscing to do. She was sad that we couldn't go to the funeral.

We also moved all her stuff out of the Cridge and 90% of it is in the Ousey Mini-storage unit, namely our garage. Where it will remain until she gets placed which could be any time, hopefully soon.

Rob and I did a movie this week, Inglorious Basterds, and it was very good, though typical Tarantino blood and gore. We quite enjoyed it.

Last weekend we had the motor home out for the weekend, a Good Sam rally. It was very nice and good to be out, we are starting to chomp at the bit to hit the road, aahhh but we must wait a few months yet.

We did complete the bathroom however, so one job done, on to the next.

Mom Escaped

Mom Escaped for a few hours this afternoon. Since she is in wait mode, she is allowed to leave the hospital for visits. Today we took her for a burger (she was dying for a burger and/or Pizza). Pizza next time. Following that we went to Walmart to order her new glasses and then she went for a haircut. Then to DQ for a small cone. She felt so much better after all that. We got her back for her Diabetes check and possible insulin shot and for supper. She has relented and rented a TV; she thought that the cost was way to high, but after I told her I would pay for it she relented, but wouldn't let me pay for it. So her life in limbo is a bit better, however, she is anxious to get to her next abode.

Carolyn and I will be painting the en suite bathroom tomorrow and we are getting ready to take the motor home out for the weekend with a Good Sam Rally in Sooke.

After a couple of days of heavy rain we are back in the Sun for a week, but in the low 20's (70's) not the heat wave we had awhile back.

Its Official for Mom

The decision has been made, Mom will be going to extended care and not back to her suite in the Cridge. In large part it was her decision, which all involved agreed with, and thus she is OK with it. She realizes that she needs more help than Cridge could provide. So she is happy, other than the fact that she has to stay in the hospital until placed, which could be from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. However, she can leave the hospital for visits, shopping etc. So she already looking for trips out, and wants to get new glasses, etc. Carolyn and I will start packing up her stuff at the Cridge.

The BBQ at Kattlers was, as usual, a success. Great fun, food and games. Norm & Gayle were the overall winners, and the Guys beat the Girls at Trivia, yet again..... Ouch. Everyone liked the Cruise Group Calendar that Mike, Gail and I put together. And the group came to agreement on a group cruise to the Baltic June or Sept. 20011.

That's all for now. Ciao.

Mom 'n more stuff

Mom has had a good week, so good that she and the doctor were discussing returning to her suite in the Cridge. I personally didn't think this was a good idea, but wasn't going to interfere with her trying, since trying for it is good for her. She herself admitted that she would probably change her mind on a bad day. Well today was a not so good day and she now believes she should go into extended care after all. We will see how this all pans out next week.

Carolyn and I were at Ann Engs, along with Sue and Rob for a very nice dinner, she does good things with chicken and rice, mmmmmmmmmm. Oh yeah, I fixed her external hard drive which had all of Tony's files and pictures, etc.

Tomorrow is the big annual Cruise Group BBQ at the Kattlers, looking forward to that, it is usually much fun, with games, hope it doesn't get rained, the forecast is 60% chance of rain. How do you do a "No Rain" dance???

Ciao
