Catching Up.

No blog since Mothers day,  hmmm.  Carolyn had a great Mother's day.  The boys remember to call even.  David dropped in that evening with a hanging basket and he and Tena had a bouquet for Grandma too.  Noni had sent certificates for 2 pedicures at Fingers and Toes, and we got to talk with her on Skype as well.  Lyn dropped in with Rachel, and Lyn had given a donation to World Vision in Carolyn's name.   She liked that idea very much.  So very nice day all around.

We went to our annual Chinese food night at the Ofner's along with the rest of the cruise group, a couple of Fridays ago.  As usual it was great.  Food to die for and of course we played "What", yep its called What.  I won't go into it, but it was fun, lots of laughs.

I have been busy with Lions, we marshalled the Victoria Day Parade.  You noticed the recession as we had half the American school bands than last year, none from California and only one for Oregon, so the rest were from Washington. In total we were down to 134 entries, floats etc. from 150.  But it went of like clockwork.  We have been prepping for the 24 hour relay at the university which will occur on June 7th, the same day that Carolyn takes of with 7 other girls for their Alaska Cruise.  She is looking forward to that.

We did an local chapter (Vancouver Islanders) FMCA rally at Sandown Racetrack last weekend.  We had 22 Rigs and it was great seeing some people we haven't seen for a while.  It was a No-Host weekend, which worked out quite well.  The executive set it up and collected enough money to provide KFC the first night with the rest pot luck, and Saturday, everyone cooked for themselves but we all sat together.  Various people pitched in for games etc and it worked out great.

Mom is doing fine.  She had her pacemaker checked last week and despite it being 5 and a half years old the battery is doing fine.  She was pleased with that.  Normally life span is 5 to 6 years.  We had some bad news involving the Cridge Centre, one of the staff whom we knew quite well passed away.  Marcia was only 46 years old and suffered a heart attack only one week after retiring from the Cridge and 4 days after her birthday.  Quite a shock to everyone.  The funeral was today.   Very sad.

The painters start Monday to paint the complex, they are starting with power washing at our end so we are now clearing out the growth and crap away from the walls, so they can get at it.  Amazing the stuff you find that you had forgotten was out there.  It will look nice ans spiffy when it is all done, in the meantime it will be hectic around here.

Well that's about it.
Ciao.

Happy Mother's Day

to All Mother's out there.

In particular my Mother, who can be seen here with her Mother's day flowers from Jack and I. She looks good for 90 doesn't she.

I took her for lunch and a nice long drive around the downtown core, Beacon Hill park, and out to her favourite spot the Lagoon near Hatley Castle.  She likes it there. We just got back.  Rob and Sue are coming over for dinner and bringing Joey.  Mom hasn't seen the dog yet.  She likes dogs so she will enjoy him, if he sits still long enough.

I haven't blogged for awhile, busy with the usual stuff, and spending more time on Facebook that I should be.  But that is where the action is.  Tried Twitter and out of my complete address list only to twitterers were found, Sandra and Julie Eng.  Just talked to them recently and they don't use it much.  So much for Twitter.   Speaking of Sandra and Julie, they were in town and Ann had a big open house for a whack of people.  We quite enjoyed it and saw many that we haven't seen for awhile.

Rachel and Saul moved to a new apartment and we helped pack, clean and move them to a 3rd floor flat, outside staircase and many trips up and down.  I condsider myself in reasonable shape, what with golfing and the Gym,  but,  after golfing that morning (not a good idea) the move in the afternoon wiped me out, fortunately there was lots of help so it could have been worse.  They have a nice suite, lots of windows and more space than their old one.

We are expecting Rachel and Lyn this afternoon.  Rachel gives Grandma her B12 shots and is due.  Like "Happy Mothers day Great Grandma, stick out your arm, I have something for you."

So TTFN, and all you Mom's out there enjoy your day.

Ciao.
