Spring has sprung
Since we have been home we have had a mixed bag of weather from cool and wet to sun. But just looking at the forecast for the next week it looks like sun sun and more sun. Now if I can just convince myself to believe it. Actually I haven't missed any golf since I have been back, twice a week and so it hasn't been too bad. Carolyn has been out gardening, with the occasional assistance of myself for some heavy stuff. We had the Merkleys and Hutchins over for dinner last night so life is good.
Mom is doing well, she decided she needed a new chair, her old recliner/rocker was getting old, apparently it was getting shorter as she was having difficulty getting up out of it. Extra cushions were not cutting it. So Friday I had her out to Dodd's furniture and she picked out a Berkline Power-lift chair. It was delivered today and she loves it. Push a button it slowly turns into a recliner, push the other one and it stands her up. Neat. This after getting a new flat screen TV last week she is pretty happy. I rearranged her bedroom so that she still has her rocker/recliner. (Her one complaint was she would miss rocking - the Power lift doesn't rock) and I set up her old TV there too so she has some flexibility to rock or not and watch TV in bed or not.
Rachel and Saul were going to buy a house but the financing fell through so they are moving to another apartment instead, that happens this week so we will be helping with packing tomorrow and moving on Thursday.
We are proud grand parents of a god Grand Daughter. Our God Daughter Erica had a baby on the 19th, a little girl, so I guess that would make her a god grand-daughter, well that's my thought anyway. We shall make a trip to Ottawa, later this summer to see the little tyke.
We have been running around looking at carpeting, and so we bought a new Washer and Dryer, don't ask? LG front loading, High Efficiency, so we get Eco rebates of $150.00. Carolyn is thrilled, however, that didn't get us off the hook for carpeting. She has a complimentary designer from Costco coming next week to advise, we shall see how that works out.
We finally got the motor home cleaned from the trip and will move it to Joyce's driveway prior to Rob and Sue's return. Ann has her girls visiting until May 10th so we will keep it out of her driveway until after they have gone, after which we will move it there.
My brother Jack, out cycling, broke his foot, trying to escape a car that was about to hit him, this was a couple of weeks ago. He is recovering from surgery that put a permanent screw and a temporary screw in his left ankle. He also broke his fibula so is also in a fibre glass foot cast, and told not to put any weight on it for 6 weeks, after which he will be all better and the temporary screw can be removed. He might be back a work this week, must find out how, since he has to drive 30 miles to get there. Apparently it only hurts when he laughs so no jokes please.
That's about it for now.
Ciao & Peace.

Home again, Mom 'N stuff, Happy Anniversary.
The trip home was generally uneventful. We didn't get into rain until Mid Oregon and stayed in it until two days after we got home. The ferry ride from Port Angeles was thrilling to say the least. Heavy winds had produced humongous swells that had the ferry rockin' and rollin'. When we got back to MH things had fallen to the floor, but there was no damage.
The sun came out after about two days home and stayed out until yesterday, quite nice, however we are in for some light rain showers for the next few days. I had a couple of nice days for golfing.
Mom was glad to see us and she is in good spirits, as can be witnessed in the photos (click on them for larger versions). She had gotten a Perm to cheer herself up (obviously worked) and she asked me to take photos of her (I couldn't believe it) to put in the blog.
We have seen David, literally 5 mins after we entered the house, he was on his way home from work and dropped in to check. We had lunch with Tena today. Everyone is fine and survived well without our presence. That's a good thing.
Unfortunately we heard, upon returning home, that Charlene's Dad had passed away the previous Saturday. Most sad, he was only 63 and it was relatively sudden. He had no long term illness, but apparently he wasn't looking well a few days before the tragic event. We had a long talk with Michael and Charlene the other day. They and the grandchildren are coping.
Carolyn got into the garden yesterday, with a little too much vigor and put her back out, so she immediately got the muscle pills out, iced it (15 minutes ice, 45 minutes no ice - thanks Helen) for 4 hours and today she is almost normal. Which is good because today is our 48th anniversary and we are going out to dinner with Suzanne and John at the Paisley restaurant. New place for us and supposed to be good.
Here is a first. I got back from down south 4 lbs lighter than when I went, never happened before, no where near it in fact. Thanks to bike riding, walking and golf I guess.
Well that be about it for now. Nap-time, all this brain activity writing tires me out.
Ta ta & Peace.
