The late afternoon light showed the pieces of in dramatic fashion and as evening settled in those that were illuminated were even more dramatic.
I have created a small album of some of my many pictures. Click here to see them.
The weather has been warm in and around 30 C. So it made for a great day. On that note.

Merle's Birthday Weekend
We have returned from an enjoyable weekend in Winnipeg. We arrived in timely fashion on Friday the 6th and met up with Lyn who arrived about the same time. Unfortunately Noni's flight was cancelled in Comox so she wasn't to arrive until the next day after re-booking on Air Canada. We saw Merle on Saturday and though weak, she was well aware of us and we each had a chance to talk to her. She was still in bed and unable to go to the room that the hospital had kindly provided for the birthday gathering. We celebrated with coffee and cake and then that evening went to a party at Terry's place, where all of Merle's, grand-children, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren 28 in all were gathered along with other sundry relatives, such as ourselves, Lyn, Noni, Lewis, and Phyllis were gathered.
It was really great for us, particularly, Lyn and Noni to be reacquainted with much of Carolyn's side of the family. We all certainly enjoyed our time there, and after a Sunday brunch with Lewis and Phyllis, we returned for an additional visit with Merle. She is certainly a resilient lady.
Monday found me scraping ice of the car at 7 in the morning with trepidations of the what would be happening at the airport. Sure enough, our flight back to Phoenix was delayed 4 hours and both Noni's and Lyn's flight's were cancelled. Noni initially was able to rebook an 8 pm flight and Lyn a 6:30 flight the next morning. However, after we departed and got back we discovered they were able to catch earlier flights that afternoon and got home mid evening that night. So although it was a long day we all got back to where we were supposed to be.
Some of Noni's and my photos can be seen here.
Ciao and Peace.

Sun, Merle's 100th and Giggley Girls.
The sun continues to shine, and the days have been even warmer. So far, at least, it has been the best weather we have had in Arizona at this time of the year. It got up to the low 80's today. Cooler weather is coming this weekend, but we will be in Winnipeg for Carolyn's Aunt Merle 100th birthday, the actual date of which is Thursday Feb 5th. Happy 100th Birthday Auntie Merle.
Lyn and Noni are coming in as well as is many of Merle's extended family, it shall be a good reunion and celebration. The weather shock we are not looking forward to, but, we will be there 3 days, I think we can manage.
Talked to Mom yesterday, and she is in good spirits. She had Lyn and Rachel for dinner Sunday and Lyn said it was a hoot, three giggly girls. Probably had the rest of the dining room looking at them strangely.
Otherwise all is well here and TTFN.
Ciao, and Peace.
