White Christmas Overkill
Yeeechhch. Enough already!. And we expect another 10 to 20 cms (thats 4" to 8") again tonight. For a place that hardly gets any snow, (if we do, we go back to bed and wait a day for it to leave and it usually does) this is bit much. We have had couple of feet in the past few days. It has been difficult getting around, slippery hills and all. Of course Victoria and environs are not equipped to handle anything more than a few flakes, and I think they have already blown their annual budget. But we shouldn't complain things look bad to worse coast to coast.
The picture is out our front window.
The cold has been deeper and more persistent than we get this time of the year. Sure has knocked out our golfing. We need GPS golf balls.
Fortunately we have gotten pretty well everything done we needed to do. Just looking forward to some warmer weather between Christmas and New Years to get the motor home ready for travel and also better conditions to do that travelling in.
We cancelled a dinner we had planned for friends Sunday because none of them could make it, but we did get out to our Cruise Group Christmas party last Friday. That was fun. Mike came as Santa Claus, see pic with Carolyn. and we had a wonderful meal, Gayle and Norm did it up quite nice. Afterwards we played "What" which turned out to be hilarious.
We are doing our traditional Christmas Eve tonight a day early at Margaret & Errol's, instead of tomorrow, considering the forecast for new snow overnight and tomorrow. Now if we can first get up their hill, (they are on Triangle Mountain) and then get back up ours afterward. Fingers crossed.
Christmas dinner is at our place Thursday so here's hoping all can arrive safe and sound including my Mom whom I will have to fetch.
Carolyn has been pacing like a caged cat. She has been so anxious to load that motor home and can't, at least not yet, and then to get going South. She has done everything else around here twice over.
Here's wishing everyone a glorious Christmas, Happy Holiday and Peaceful New Years.
Ciao.

Sad Day
Catherine put a nice collage of Dennis in her blog today, the day he passed on, and we are all thinking of him. Time is supposed to heal all wounds, but this one will need a lot of time. Our thoughts and love are with Catherine, M, J and R not to mention Mom and Jack. He would have been so proud of that little grand-daughter. In my minds eye I can see him oohing and aahing over that little cutie.
Take care all, and in remembrance;
Ta Ta all & Peace.

Lovely Visit - Good Timing - Great Concert
Catherine came for a two day visit which was timely as well as enjoyable. She arrived Wednesday afternoon, in time to join us for a Christmas Concert at Megan's School. We joined David to watch his little girl. We had our trepidations once we saw the programme, it looked like it was going to be a long evening, it was, in fact, 3 hours, but it was so well done, that we hardly notice the time go by. It was well rehearsed, and went off like clockwork. All numbers well done, altering solemnity with humour, lots of humour. Considering all Grades 2 - 12 were involved, it was a wonder it ran so well. We had a bonus event as they had Ken Lavigne, a young and upcoming Tenor do a couple of numbers. He is doing a concert in Victoria next week and Megans school is the only school invited to sing with him. He was excellent. In fact he is singing in Carnegie Hall in January. Very enjoyable, we were all pleased. The first picture shows one part of the group, the second shows Megan, that's her in the centre.
Thursday we visited with Mom and we brought her over for dinner, and Lyn dropped in to visit as well. Friday morning 6 of us, Catherine, Lyn, and Lyn's two, Adam & Rachel, with us met for breakfast at the local "best Eggs Bennie in Town" called John's Place. We had a great visit and breakfast. Rachel and her beau are headed for Honduras for the holiday, so we won't see her for Christmas. She is in nursing, and on Monday she gave Mom, her Great Grandma, her monthly B12 shot, and will continue that for the foreseeable future. Great News for Mom as this works much better for her. The last picture shows Rachel with Mom, just after the Big Shot.
Catherine departed right after breakfast as the weather was deteriorating fast and she wanted to be sure to catch a ferry back to Vancouver. Good thing she did, as there was a couple of Ferry cancellations and delays due to weather, mostly wind. We are supposed to get a bit of snow, but it hasn't shown yet.
Great Visit and TTFN
Ciao & Peace.
