Cheyenne's Graduation

Cheyenne's graduation day went very well. She was Valedictorian and made us all proud with her moving speech.

The day started with the Blessing of the Grads at the New Aiyansh Church. After some munchies at Mike and Charlene's house we headed over to the School for Commencement which, despite being lengthy (by definition they must be), was a very nice event. Cheyenne looked great in her purple gown. Following this the grad dinner was held at the Recreation Centre, and Cheyenne wore a gorgeous yellow dress for the procession in. For the Grad ball she wore a red party dress. All of these can be seen at my online album site here. She certainly was beautiful in all of the dresses she wore.
Congratulations Cheyenne!

Have a look at the pictures and enjoy.

Headed to Mike & Char's

We're headed for the great white North, well, I guess at this time of year the great Green north. We should be at Mike and Charlene's place Wednesday afternoon. It has been a good trip so far, despite the fact we both have colds. Mine started nearly a week before we left and Carolyn got it a couple of days later and it has been lingering. Although we are getting better, it has been very slow progress. So we are taking it easy. We probably could have made it in 4 days, but instead it is taking us 5. We started out Saturday, conveniently BC Ferries had a sale day and it only cost us $100 to get off the island instead of 200. What a deal. The first night we stayed at a provincial campground, Skihist. We hadn't tried that one before and it was very nice, lucked out there too, as it was the last night for half price seniors. The next was at Walmart in Quesnel and we found that gas there was $1.32/ litre, 15 cents cheaper than Victoria, go figure??

Tonight we're at Sintich RV Park (where do they get these names?). We been here before, quite nice, though the price has gone up some. However, WiFi is free and as a result excellent as well. Seems the only crumby Wifi is that which you have to pay for. It was a short day from Quesnel, but planned that way. We could kick back, clean up, get rid of these damn colds, hopefully.

For the most part the weather has been fine, tho, we had a few rain showers yesterday and it is raining right now.

Leaving on Saturday, the kids had to chase me around via telephone and or Internet for Father's Day. Lyn had us over Friday night for Pizza and Beer, which was very nice. On Sunday Carolyn stepped up to the plate and took me to Smittys for a nice lunch.

Thats about it for now.
Ciao & Peace.

Mom's Wigged Out, Social Life

Mom decided to get a wig, here is what she looks like with it on; not bad at all. She looks good for near 90. She called me June 3rd, which was her and Dad's anniversary, had he lived it would have been there 69th. Anyhoo she asked for "a big favour". Take her to the Bay for a Wig. She is having difficulty doing her hair with her right arm still not up to it. So away we went. The lady at the store was very kind, showed her several. The one she liked was on sale the previous month, but she honored the sale price and saved Mom $70. She showed her how to put in on and she is quite happy with it. Now she feels better going down to dinner with the girls. Her vanity wasn't allowing her to get going; so it's a good thing.

This is a week of socialization. Movie Monday was a bust when the only thing Rob and I could do was pick up a rental and watch it at home, then we had a senior moment when we ended up picking up "Brave one" which, when we started it, came to the realization that we had both seen it before down South. It was actually as good as the first time around. Helen Hunt is one great actress.

Night before last I had my Lion's meeting (I was acting treasurer again), and our meetings are dinner meetings. Last night, Suzanne had us for dinner. It was a combined June birthday dinner. John's is on the 26th, mine on the 21st, Brian on the 20th and her son-in-law on the 13th, So there were four couples dining on steak and prawns and a wonderful carrot birthday cake. It was a lovely evening, we hadn't seen their daughter Julie and her husband (another Gary) in a long time, or Brian and Molly for that matter. Tonight we are off to the Cruise groups annual Chinese dinner put on by Jean, and we always look forward to that. And tomorrow, Carolyn is having Rob & Sue, Ann, Mom over for dinner. This is not doing any good to my weight loss program. Har Har.

Next week we prepare for our departure to the Great White North to see Michael & family, we leave a week today.

Take care and have a great day.

Pet Duck

We had a close encounter of the duck kind. A Mallard and his mate took an interest in our house the other day. Carolyn heard this quacking from our patio and went to take a look and found this Mallard at our patio door looking in. He approached the door several times, at one point the mate followed him. Otherwise they perched on our lawn. A neighbout walked by and stopped to look at them and Carolyn opened the door to talk and the male made like he wanted into the house. You can see him in the last picture quacking his displeasure when she told him no and shut the door. What a hoot. Eventually a strange noise startled them and the flew away.

Haven't seen them since.

Strange but True.

Ciao and Peace.
