Blogs, Birthdays, and more Moving
Well I see by my last blog that emailing to my blog works, so that is what I'll be doing on the cruise. We leave next Sunday and are quite excited. Now Carolyn is full packing mode, so we are down to the wire.
Rachel has returned from her trip and we were regaled with pictures and stories from their trip. They had a grand time, the wedding was a success and Rachel did a bungee jump, she is fearless. She says that it was way more scary than para jumping. It was her birthday, yikes we have a 22 year old grand daughter. Happy Birthday Dear, and congratulations too. She has been accepted into nursing school this year. She was wait listed and was called up, she is happy to be getting on with it. Adam was in for his sister's birthday, that's the two of them in the picture.
Chelsea leaves this Friday for UBC, everyone is moving. Speaking of which me Mom has her own suite in the Cridge Senior Centre and will be moving in on Sept 15th. Of course right in the middle of us being away. So the family is stepping up to the plate and with the help of our friends, she will be moved.
Well this is it for now, the next blog could be from somewhere in the Med.
Ta ta & Peace.

Moves, BBQ, Car, Birthday
Wow, I should blog more often. Tena and David completed their move and it went smoothly. Now comes the unpacking and cleaning. They are happy to be on with it, and they like their new place. They are anxiously waiting for some summer weather to try out the pool.
Rachel should be arriving home today from her trip overseas. She went with Saul to London and then on to a Wedding in Ireland where a friend of Saul is getting married. We are anxious to hear about it all and will have a chance. It is her birthday on Thursday so we will be seeing her soon. Happy Birthday Dear.
Our cruise group got together for Mike and Gail's annual BBQ. As usual it was great, they know how to organize a day. Usual fun and games in the afternoon, followed by pulled pork bunwiches. Pictures can be seen here. This year Mike asked me to take a group picture, which I did and it turned out great if I do say so myself.
We have ordered our new car, a Nissan Versa. It is a new model for 2007 and we have ordered a 2008 sedan. We think it will be a great tow car. It should be arriving in October, after our trip. Carolyn is madly packing are at least pre-packing or is it pre-pre-packing? We will be gone most of September and I think I'll be able to post to this blog while away so I'll be able to keep everyone up to date on our Mediterranean adventures.
Well that's it for now. I am emailing this to my blog to see if it works. Hope it does as that is how I am going to blog on the trip.
ta ta & Peace.

New Life, More good news.
In other good news, besides getting themselves engaged, Noni and John bought a house in Comox. The offer was accepted and they take possession of a 2600 sq. ft. home on half an acre on Nov 1st. Their jobs move with them, in fact it was because their jobs were moving North this winter that they bought the house. Congratulations yet again. Things are coming up roses for everyone. David and Tena move into their house later this week. Mom should be getting her own place this fall so it looks like a busy fall for all.

The Boys head home; Another Wedding Coming
The visit is over. It was a whirlwind, but very enjoyable. We managed to pack in quite a bit in the few (9 come to think of it) days the boys were here. They got to visit almost all the family. They left yesterday morning and should be halfway home by now. He expects it will take the same 4 days that it took to get here. He has a spare day just in case he needs it. Not sure if he'll drive again though, long tough trip when you're trying to make time. It was fun having them all here.
Great news!!! Noni and John are engaged. Noni called us from Comox. John arranged a small holiday for them up there and proposed to her during the trip. She was giddy with excitement as we all are for her, for them. No date yet for the wedding, probably some time next year. Congrats to you both.
On that great note.
Ta ta all and Peace.

Jack 'n the boys, Catherine, Birthday, etc.
Well I was some pooped after 6 days of 6 hours in the sun. The weather turned bright and nice for the races but it made for long hot days parking people. I have discovered that a small percentage of drivers are total jerks. The traffic controls in place did not apply to them or so they thought. Hmmm Thank goodness the vast majority of people appreciated that we were there to help them get parked not otherwise.
Jack and the boys arrived after a tiring 4 day drive from Oklahoma and our Sister in law Catherine arrived for two days as well to visit. Lyn and Alan are off for their summer sail boating so haven't been here but will arrive back in time to visit with Jack, Jamie and Andrew. We have been busy traipsing around town. Jamie and Andrew remember the Beacon Hill petting zoo from last year and so that was high on their list of things to do. Of course we did Chinatown as well both years. The Lagoon is a favourite spot and yesterday we saw 3 of the Alaska cruise ships in port. Throw in a trip around Ogden point and Clover point and we have been getting around.
Margot's birthday was last week on Aug 2nd, but they are celebrating this week end. Happy Birthday Dear. Let us know what you all did to celebrate.
Today is the Symphony Splash where the float a barge in the Inner Harbour, downtown Victoria, and the Victoria Symphony puts on a concert. People arrange themselves around the harbour up to and including the legislative grounds. It is quite the spectacular. I will be, along with some of my Lions group, will be doing security patrols around the fireworks across the harbour from the concert. The fireworks are displayed when the symphony plays the 1812 overture. I don't think any of the family will attend as the boys are too young to enjoy it, and Mom is too old to handle sitting in awkward locations to enjoy it either. The last time Carolyn and I went was a few years back when Dennis and Catherine visited, good memories there, I warned Dennis that it gets cool in the harbour when the sun goes down, he didn't believe me and there he was in his shorts and trying to cover his rapidly cooling legs with Victoria maps and Symphony programs trying to keep warm.
Stay well all and hug each other.
