Nice Home Mom, Happy Birthday Jack

Well the birthday week for Mom is about over. She got many calls and greetings, and she had a good time. Joe and Dorothy came over and stayed over Monday night on Mom's new Hide-a-bed. See picture. Catherine also visited staying with us from Tuesday to Saturday. She got to visit Mom's fine dining room for lunch and a good visit. She also took Mom and us out for Dinner at My Chosen Restaurant for a Birthday Dinner and back here for some of Carolyn's pineapple cake. Most enjoyable. Catherine joined us Wednesday night when we had Ken, Bernadette, Kathy over for dinner. Carolyn made a fabulous pork loin with all the trimmings.

Mom now has a half dozen flowers to look after. Her suite is coming together nicely. Just a few minor things to do, mostly in her bedroom. The picture shows the kitchen/living room side of the suite. The bedroom and large bathroom make up the other half. 500 Sq.Ft. is pretty good, she likes the space which is well over twice what she had in Winnipeg.

It's Bro Jack's birthday tomorrow, have a good one. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthd...... See Jacks blog for new pics of the boys.

Speaking of pictures, I actually finished sorting and culling the cruise pictures, actually a couple of weeks ago and forgot to put out the link to my album. Here it is: My Albums Look for the 3 albums, Med Cruise 1, Med Cruise 2 and Med Cruise Ship & Mates . Enjoy.

Ciao

The move continued, Birthdays

Last Weekend Noni and John returned with a UHaul truck to get the rest of their stuff. We helped for most of the day and then they were on their way, by nightfall their move was complete, thank goodness. This week they closed on the old house and now that is done too.

Birthday celebrations for Carolyn continued this week. Lyn and Rachel had promised to take her out for her birthday last Monday, but that wind storm interupted ferry service so Rachel couldn't get back from Vancouver. She was over visiting her brother. So it was rescheduled to last night. The three of them had a grand time. They went for Sushi, to the Penny Farthing pub.

Since we were both baching it, Rob and I went out as well to the Six mile pub for burgers, well Beef Dip actually. We met up with the guys there.

Mom's birthday is this week on Tuesday. We are going over tomorrow to have dinner with here. Joe and Dorthy are visiting her, from Vancouver, Monday and Tuesday. Catherine is coming over late Tuesday and we will celebrate again on Friday. Catherine is staying over until Saturday.

Rob and I saw "Lions for Lambs" and neither of us thought it was any good, give it a pass. Next Monday is "Beowulf". Looing forward to that one.

Happy Birthday Mom.

TTFN, and Peace.

New Car, Happy Birthday Carolyn

We got back from Comox and the move, unpacking went well, but we left them with much more to do. We may see them this weekend when they come for the rest of their stuff.

We picked up our new car yesterday. A 2008 Nissan Versa Sedan. Its nice. Don't usually buy new but there you go. We got what we needed to replace our Sunfire tow vehicle, which we will keep it as a second car. So now I have to get the equipment to convert the new one to flat towing. Its a standard shift so Carolyn is a little nervous, as she hasn't driven a standard shift, never mind one with 6 forward gears and one reverse. The Versa automatic cannot be flat towed, thus the standard. We will have to go out and do some driver training. She won't have any problem.

Timing was good for the new car's arrival, as its Carolyn's birthday tomorrow, Happy Birthday Dear.

Ciao
Peace

The Move

Here is a picture of Noni & John's new place in Comox. The movers they had were dreadful, took much too long with loading, in a truck too small for the job and they charged nearly twice as much as quoted. Then the next day they only had two guys to unload. Noni and John were not happy movers. However, most of their stuff was moved and we have been here two days helping to unpack.

The house is nice, large yard, double lot (sub dividable) large workshop/garage. The house is a side split multi level. A large game room came with a pool table. Very nice appointed place. It has a covered deck with hot tub. They are quite pleased with it all.

Lyn came up today to help and we all go back tomorrow.

TTFN
Peace
