UBC, Yeah for Chelsea
Just got the good news that Chelsea has been selected to attend University of British Columbia this fall, she is so excited and we are all very happy for her, even though this means she will be leaving for Vancouver this fall. But good news begets good news, Adam is also going to Vancouver this fall to BCIT, additionally Chelsea's friend was also accepted to UBC; with Margot, Joel, and now Catherine (see below) they will have good support. Rachel is still waiting and hoping for nursing selection. Our kiddies are growing up; it brought a tear to Carolyn's eye the other day.
Catherine has arrived in Vancouver, she has an apartment not 400 yards away from Margot in one direction and 500 yards to Stanley park in the other. She has partially moved in and is awaiting her stuff from Winnipeg. She is online and promises a blog soon. The Vancouver contingent is growing, so I anticipate more Vancouver visits in the future.
We are preparing for Mom's move. Carolyn wanted to redecorate the spare bedroom and so we are taking this opportunity to do so. Off came the wallpaper, it has been painted a soft green. The dresser got a new coat as did the pole lamp to match. Some nice window coverings have gone up and Lyn has a single bed for us to use as we gave Rachel the dark blue sofa bed for her new place. Two new toilets are being installed. We find the toilet in the MH higher than the ones we had at home. I felt I was sitting on the floor and getting up again, with my sore knee, geez we are getting old. Well the taller toilets are much more comfortable and will be a big help to Mom too. As well they are low flow, so we are doing our environmental thing too. Now I have to put in a couple of grab bars at each toilet and the tub for Mom and we will be pretty well set. We had better watch out though, if we make it too nice and comfy for Mom she won't want to find a place of her own. lol.
I managed to get back golfing, sore knee and all. Doctor says its OK, but don't overdo it. I am taking some Cox-2 inhibitor drug, like celebrex, but it is a new one with less side effects call Prexige(lumiracoxib). It is guite effective.
Carolyn had xrays on her back and she will find out more about what is going there next week. Otherwise just her normal aches and pains. Doesn't slow her down any she has been a busy bee since we've been back.
Next will be preparing the motor home. Oil change for it and the car, unload it until near empty so we can get all Mom's stuff in. We should be leaving on or about May 7th. Phyllis invited us to stop in Saakatoon for a visit so we could meet each other and visit with her and Lewis, that should happen Fri 11th to Sunday 13th. We are looking forward to the trip and being on the road again.
Weeellll, that's about all the news that is fit to print.
Cheers all and Peace.

Family Fun

This is a picture of the real Duck, I didn't get a picture of Pseudo Duck to compare but it is pretty close.
The dinner of traditional Ham, Scalloped potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, carrots, sweet potato, and various salads was delicious. Noni just had to bring cheese cakes for dessert, mmmmmmmm good. Everyone contributed something. We had near 20 family including a friend or two. Great fun and good to see everyone again.
Take care, hug your loved ones and Peace.

HAPPY EASTER
We have spent most of the week unpacking the motor home. We are taking out more than usual as we expect to use it to move Mom in May. We have also started prepping our spare room for her. Carolyn has been wanting to redecorate it anyway, so this a good opportunity. Rachel is in her new apartment, but has a job ahead as she has more stuff than space, but she should enjoy having her own place.
We have been re-acquainted with most of our children and grandchildren, however, we get to see them all again on Sunday, we are all getting together for Easter dinner at Lyn's. On that note:
Happy Easter Everyone.
