The Ouseys in Victoria Page

Here it is a week again since I blogged. Carolyn and I enjoyed Tee Pee park. It brought back many memories wandering around the beach. Without a doubt one of the finest around. When the tide is out it seems to go for miles, even further than is apparent in the picture. We spent a lot of time, camping with the kids there in the summers between 1978 and 1982, great memories.

The reunion was successful. We talked, gossiped our way around with many old friends, some we haven't seen for a long time, others more recently. It was good to touch base again with Terry and Betty, who now live in Comox. Ken and Bernadette as well as Cathy and Denny, were there from Victoria. We have spent a lot of time with these good friends over as much as 40+ years in the case of Cathy and Denny. The girls on the left are Carolyn, Cathy, Bernadette, and Heather.
The other photo is of two of the couples, Terry and Betty in the middle, & Denny and Cathy on the ends.

There were about 400 in attendance which was great considering that many were complaining that it wasn't very well advertised. Obviously word got around. There was a Meet and Greet Friday night, a Banquet and Dance Saturday night, Service and Brunch Sunday, with various activities in between. We all left the Meet and Greet early to head to Betty and Terry's Hot tub, which was enjoyed by some if not all.

A great weekend for all of us, and a great two weeks for Carolyn and I, glad to be back to rest.

Charlene blogged and apparently Sierra had tonsils and adnenoids removed, read it in her blog. She is doing a great job at blogging, so nice to get the information on family things as they happen, keep it up dear.

We are at Tee Pee Park in Comox. We have just moved sites as we came in early,instead of going to Nanoose and we had to go into a different site than we had reserved for. we were at Terry and Betty Smalls for Dinner last night. Haven't seen them in years, so had an enjoyable time catching up on old times, war stories and other general rumours and gossip. they will be at the reunion so we will see them again, in fact they are coming out to the motorhome tonight after supper to see our little setup.

Well have to keep this short I am at an internet cafe and am down to less than 5 minutes.

Got two blogs to download (catherine and charlene) and read later.

We went over on the ferry (all of 4 miles) to Vesuvius yesterday. No not the big Vesuvius, our little one right here on Saltspring Island. Enjoyable little boat trip and a very nice lunch. I had some delicious "button ribs" I call them, rib ends others call them, whatever you call them they were good. Sue and Rob had Halibut which apparently was very good and the special sandwich and soup.

The day started out cloudy and cool but ended up quite nice, and today is sunny and warm, though the next few days are forecast to be gradually deteriorating.

Nice to see all the blogs, keep them coming, short and sweet is better than none at all.

Toodle do for now. Rob wants to go on a road trip, can't sit still that boy.

The GoodSam Rally was good fun. Tony put on one of his magic shows, which was excellent. Very professional. It is the first time Carolyn and I have seen one of his complete shows, great.

Yesterday we moved ourselves to Osborne Bay RV resort, and today we went over to Saltspring Island for lunch. I had some button ribs to die for, I know Dennis would have loved them, for sure.

The view from the motorhome is specatacular, 4 miles across to Saltspring Island.

Well this is a limited connection and I'm in the car with the laptop up against the steering wheel. Not to comfortable. I have downloaded several bloggs, and we will read them back in the MH.

I talked to Mom and she has made tentative bookings to go to Jacks around the same time we will be there. She will be flying out on the weekend of the 18/19 Nov and returning on 2/3 Dec. Her travel agent says he may be able to get her a better price in a couple of weeks. We will be at Jacks from about 21st to 28th Nov.

I'll keep in touch if I can find WiFi anywhere.

Where do the time go. We seemed to have more time when I was working. We enjoyed a lovely picnic with Sue and John on Saturday past. We had a nice drive out to Sidney, a leisurely walk around town, stopping for Tea, then of to a local park for the picnic. The weather remains spectacular. Apparently we had the sunniest August on record, no doubt then, the driest as well, and it has continued right on through to September, at least so far.
We had the Eng's and Robinson's over for dinner. You can see by the pictures we were quite satisified with Carolyn's culinary skills. A very enjoyable meal and evening. We have gotten the motorhome moved nearby so that we can get it ready for our upcoming trip. We are going with the Engs and Robinsons to a Samboree Rally (Good Sam Club) up at Cowichan. Then continuing up Island for a few days at Osborne RV park for a few days, and then Carolyn and I will do a couple of days at Nonoose Campground, followed by a Military reunion in Comox 21 - 25 Sept. After which we return home. We will be staying at our old camping spot at the base, Tee Pee Park. We spent many camping days there with the kids 1978 to 1982, when we lived there. Ahh the memories. Anyhow, we are looking forward to it all, and will be gone two weeks total. I'll try to get connected with my laptop while travelling, but it is always hit and miss. If I do I will certainly relate on our travels.

In the meantime, Carolyn just may have a cold, we are hoping not, in any event she has a few days before we leave on Monday.

Yes I have been a bit tardy with me blogs. And I'll blog soon. Just leaving to help Tony fix his computer.

I see that Charlene has returned to the blogging fold, and she has a Job, whoopee, see it all at Ouseysupnorth on the right.

Ken has figured out Skype and is now online, and his proton treatments are going well, Helens blog has all the Kirkwood news.
