Charlene's blog, pics Salmon Point

Charlene blogged back on the 12th of Aug and I missed it. I am so used to automatic notification that I don't check, and I hadn't set up her new page for notify. How did the interview go? Keep up with the news girl.

Here are a couple of pics from Salmon point taken by intrepid photographer Tony.
That is Tony and Ann on the left and Robert and Marnie on the right.

And this is an "artsy" one he took of the table setting and the Cruise ship Carnival Spirit in the background. He's good. It kind of sums up the few days.

Take care all.

Salmon Point

We are back home from a very enjoyable stay at Salmon Point RV park. We met some new friends of Tony and Ann, namely Robert and Marney, a delightful couple whom we enjoyed "camping" with. The few days went by too quickly, and all us wanting to stay a few days longer but alas, we all had something we just had to get back to. The weather was glorious and we were parked, as we usually are at Salmon Point, right on the beach. The view spectacular, and we even saw a couple of Cruise ships, despite it being mid week. One was the Volendam of Holland America Cruise lines, and the other was the huge Carnival Spirit. We saw them two night is a row, once coming from and the other going to Alaska. Some of us did some golfing, others fishing and yet others shopping in Courtney. A good few days all round.

Apparently John is all moved into Noni's place. They have been working like beavers the past couple of weeks getting Noni's place ready. Noni as most of you know is a bit of a pack rat, resulting in boon days for Salvation army and Hartland landfill. Once there was enough room, John's stuff was moved in as of today. Good luck to them. All of our nestlings are in happy relationships again. Life is good.

Happy 21st Birthday Rachel

Happy Birthday Rachel. Her Birthday is actually on Aug 23rd but as we we are going up Island as of tomorrow, we celebrated yesterday. She and Sol had plans for the 23rd in any case.

Jack did his magic on one of the pictures and cut Margot into it. It is shown on the left. She couldn't be at the Reunion in person but she was there in spirit and the magic of Adobe Photoshop.

We are getting the Motorhome ready for the trip tomorrow, up to Salmon Point, which is 20 km short of Campbell River. Will let you all know how it went upon our return on Friday.

Healthwise we are doing well, the leg is almost normal, and the golf about the same. I asked the doctor before the operation if I would ever golf again, he said sure, I said good, I couldn't before. lol. Well the game is still mediocre, but the weather and company is just great.

Rob and I are going to see "The Illusionist" tonight, tried to talk Tony into going but he says he can't because he has to get ready for the trip.

Ta ta and Peace.

Reunion Pictures Online, leg & Magicians

As promised a selection of the rest of the Ousey Reunion Pictures are online at:

Ousey Reunion Pictures

Pictures were contributed by myself, Alan, Catherine, Carolyn and Jack.

My leg continues to improve to the point that I am back golfing. Otherwise Carolyn and I are coming down from the high of having many visitors. It always seems to be a downturn after the excitement of visiting. We are catching up with the chores that get set aside. Also preparing for a short trip with friends to Salmon Point.
We did get to see Tony Eng, our Magician friend, perform along with many others at the Macpherson theatre, last Friday. We say 9 performers, 6 of which were competing. This was all part of a PCMA (Pacific Coast Magicians Assoc.) annual Convention, which this year was held in Victoria. One week long and the Engs are pooped and are looking for some quiet time at Salmon Point. We are looking forward to the trip too, as is Rob. Sue is in Halifax looking after the folks, after her Mom broke her hip, so she will be missing this trip.

Anyhow, enjoy the pics.

Charlene's New Blog

Speacial Announcement - Charlene has a new blog and will try to keep it up to date. Don't let it become a chore Charlene, but periodic updates would be great. You do write a great blog and I know, if not everyone, I at least appreciate it. I got a yahoo chat message from Charlene that said they all made it home fine, they are still alive.
That was where she announced that she was doing this new blog, Ouseysupnorth I have corrected my link on this page.

I have included some pics. I can never get Mike without him sticking something in front of his face. Below he tried with Shawnee but I got him. Charlene is with Sierra. There are many other good ones which I will have online soon.
Bye for now.

Ousey Reunion

The Reunion of some of the Ouseys in Victoria was a unqualified success. Mom enjoyed herself, though she does have a hard time saying goodbye. Gradually over the past 10 days various Ouseys arrived. First Mom, followed by Jack and his boys, Jamie and Andrew; then Mike, Charlene, and their four, Cheyenne, Dakota, Shawnee, and Sierra; Catherine, and Margot arrived, however, Margot could only stay the one night, and returned to Vancouver on the 4th. It was great to see her and she got to see almost everyone. On the 5th, everyone gathered at Lyn & Alan's house, aside of the above, Rachel, Adam, Colin, Noni, John (the new beau and and (looks like) here to stay, Mr Wright), Chelsea; David, Tena, Megan and Benjamin; and of course Carolyn and myself. WOW 25 in all. Alan & Lyn's place was buzzing with activity for most of the afternoon. John BBQed his famous ribs (MMMmmm), Alan BBQed chicken, hamburgers and smokies, along with all the rest of the trimmings and Carolyn's world famous Carrot Cake and Polynesian Wedding Cake, everyone was stuffed.

There were almost more digital cameras then there were people, as a result I have many pictures to filter down to a photo album, which when done will be online at my photo site. When? TBA, but soon. You can see the one above of Mom and her Great Grandchildren, (Well, Jamie and Andrew are actually Grandchildren, but fit in age wise), they also appear in the next one of Mom with her grandchildren,(missing Margot).

It was great to see the effort everyone put into making this as successful as it was. Catherine did a great job of organizing Mom and her trip here. We were very glad to see Mom and I know she was happy to see everyone, in particular Mike, Charlene, and 4 great grandchildren that she hasn't seen in a long while in some cases, with the young ones, at all; and, Jack and the boys. Thanks to Lyn and Alan for the use of their "ranch", it handled all 25 of us easily. Thanks to John for his delicious ribs and Alan, Lyn, Noni, Carolyn for other food preparation. It was great of Noni to put Mike & Charlene and kiddies, up at her place. Thanks to Catherine for her assitance around the house and at the reunion. Thanks to everyone for coming, particularly Mike & Charlene; Jack & the boys; and Catherine & Mom, it was a long trip for all of them. A special thanks to Carolyn for all her caring attention to everyone for nearly 2 weeks.

Dennis was with us, as well, in all our thoughts and memories and was missed; truly this reunion was incomplete without him. A laptop was on hand replaying the PowerPoint presentation that was created by Jack for his celebration of life.

As he would have said,
Ta Ta & Peace.
