Well we finally got the car at 2:00 pm this afternoon and have gotten as far as Fort Telkwa. We should be in Terrace by early afternoon tomorrow and on our way to Mikes by the afternoon. So we have lost a day but we will make up for it by enjoying the visit more.
Weather has been generally cooperative. Cool, and occasional shower but otherwise quite comfortable. Other than the frustration we experienced waiting for the car we are all fine.
More when we get there.

Still is Prince George. Why is car problems always "worse than expected". Darn it. Anyhow, it is now supposed to be ready tomorrow noon. So we "should!" be able to get away then. Lewis came in and was surprised to be picked up in a motorhome. So were many of the other flyers and staff.
till next time.
till next time.
We are still in Prince George. Car is still in for repair to tow plate, some of the substructure got damaged, so it is, of course, taking longer. We will pack up the Motorhome and pick up Lewis at 1:00 pm and then wait at the repair shop. Hopefully it will be done today and we can get on our way.
Hell of a hurricane down south. Makes our problems seem insignificant in the scheme of things. Wonder if Jack saw some side effects of the storm? Probably not too much. I imagine Rob and Sue will see some since they are on the East coast.
My free wifi only lasted for Sunday. On Monday it turned out that the company running the wifi here, turned on their home page and now it costs $4.95 per day for access, or $7.95 for 3 days or $19.95 per month. Quite reasonable when you think about it. Many other wifi spots are $8 to $15 per day. Imagine Telus wanting $15 per day; a little ridiculous I say. Well they have free dial up which I am using today.
Carolyn and I are fine health wise, just anxious about the car and to get back on the road up to Mikes. More later. Ta ta.

Hello all. We are in Prince George awaiting Lewis' arrival on Tuesday. We just got in to the Sintich RV park. Yeah, free WiFi. Got caught up on all my email, updates and now blog.
It is a good thing we are early into Prince George. Found a broken bracket on the car portion of the towing assembly. Carolyn had to drive the car from Lac La Hache to here. Of course it happened on a weekend. Hopefully we will be able to find someone to repair it. We have a spare day, tomorrow (Monday) before Lewis arrives on Tues.
The warranty work went smoothly on Thursday at Kustom Koach, Aldrgrove. So much so that we could have gone on our way by Noon. However, there was no rush and we had planned on visiting my neice Margot that evening. We left to go to her place about 4:40 pm and by 5:10 we were in a trans canada parking lot. About 45 minutes later haveing gone about 3 km, we called Margot and said that we will have more time on our return so we would see her and Joel then. It took us 15 minutes to get from the sign that said exit 53 ahead, to the exit (at Surrey), and we returned to Aldergrove. We found out later that there was a severe accident on the Port Mann bridge and that was 5 miles further down the road. At the rate we were going it would have been another 2 hours. So just as well.
Well now we are all up to date. Now to find a body shop or something to fix this car.

On the road again.....
Tomorrow we take off for the mainland and our trip up to Northern BC. Not much news other than we have booked Cocopah again this year for Dec 10th to Jan 10th, and the Kirkwoods are staying there too for the same period, which is great. That where we will be for Christmas.
Not much else new, just pack pack packing. I'll be online when I can and will continue blogging.
Bye for now.

Well I for one am BBQ'ed out today. We went to the Lions BBQ this afternoon, then to Lyn's for Rachel's Birthday family BBQ. Both were excellent and I am stuffed. The day, as it has been for 6 weeks now, was hot and sunny, which made for a good time. We also took Rachel out for her birthday last Friday. Just her Carolyn and myself. That was quite nice too, it is different to talk to them one on one without the distractions that usually accompany visiting them at home.
Below is an article I scanned out of the GO magazine. Noni, interviewed yet again. If you click on the article you will get a larger version and if you enlarge that browser window to the max, you can actually read the thing, if you are so inclined.
We have the Motorhome nearby in Joyce's driveway and are busy preparing it and packing for the trip. We are definitely leaving Wednesday morning. We have an appt. at Kustom Koach for the rig on Thursday. We are looking forward to getting back on the road, to hell with the gas prices. Anywhere else is cheaper than here.

Well the plans to Winnipeg are cast in stone, since I have made the flight arrangements. We leave on the 19th of October, and return on the Nov. 1st. Hopefully Jack will be able to make it for that first weekend too, as that is mid term break at SOSU. Speaking of Jack, we haven't heard further on his house purchase. He has made an offer and it was accepted, of course subject to financing. I would assume he is waiting for that part to be approved.
Dennis' dog Suzie had a run in with a skunk de phew. Read his hilarious report here at his blogspot. Well its funny now, I don't suppose it was a the time.
With all the thought of when, why and what we are doing this fall, we haven't made too many plans for this winter. An email from Helen assisted in reminding us. We are booked in to River Breeze for Feb 10th to Mar 10th, and will be in Picacho Peak for at least a week prior to that. So Southern Arizona seems like a good starting point. Must take a look at booking some place around Yuma or further south.
Carolyn is off to the Doctor's. She has had some back troubles which may be contributing to her sleep problems. "hot flashes" too --- don't mention it.
Lions meeting tonight, must go tidy up my Newsletter.

Wow Friday already, where did the week go?? The golfing group and I went to March Meadows up at Honeymoon Bay, Lake Cowichan. 90 min drive one way. It was my first time there and it is a very nice little course. We had two for one tickets so it only cost $17.50 to golf 18 holes. It is a regulation 9-hole course that one plays twice. While we drove up there it was cloudy, and we hoped it would stay that way, as there was no rain in the forecast. However, when we got there the sun was blazing away and it got quite hot. Regardless it was an enjoyable venture, finishing off with having pizza at Il Greco. Suzanne and Carolyn joined us for that part.
Carolyn spent the day with Noni cruising the malls and having lunch, finally meeting Chelsea when she finished work.
The reno work at Davids is nearing completion. We finally were able to figure out some of that old wiring in his place to put in the new stuff. All of the studding and wall boarding, and insulation is done, so it is mostly just finishing touches to do. Looking pretty good, for a couple of amateurs, thanks for Lewis getting us going in the right direction.
Now I must go and book flights to Winnipeg vis Air Miles. Carolyn is joining me on the trip and we will be gone 10-12 days near the last two weeks of October.

Whoopee Jack bought his-self a house. Looks like a nice place too. See it here. A-One. Let's see, Dennis got a new (to him) trailer, and Jack has gotten a new (to him) house. I gotta go buy me something. Damn can't think of anything. Guess we will have to count the motorhome from last year. Got to keep up with the Ousey's you know.
We had a grand BBQ at Mike Kattlers place on Saturday. The weather was just excellent. Hot and sunny. As usual we played a bunch of lawn games of which "yours truly" was the overall winner. That is Carolyn and I, but I get to wear the ribbon. 18 of the "cruise group" were out, for what was a fun afternoon and evening.
Speaking of miracles, Jon Stewart's take on the Airbus crash was something like, if all 309 were killed and 3 days later they came alive again then that WOULD be a miracle.
Have a Jolly day all.

Wow and new trailer for Dennis and Catherine. Great, with super slide too. Is it already parked in the trailer park where you usually stay or do you have to move it. Will the Taurus be able to pull it? I can't wait to see it.
We're back from the wilderness of Mary Hill. Weather still holding great, so we really didn't want to come in. But we had things to do, places to go, people to see, like Doctors. I saw my orthopedic surgeon and he had the MRI results. The tendon is torn nearly through, actually worse than the ultrasound showed. However, he said the recovery from the surgery would be six months. After bending my arm, testing strength and how much discomfort I had he said that the surgery would probably not be worth it. He could do it, but if I am not feeling much discomfort why bother. They know what is wrong and can always do it later if it becomes a problem. So that is that. It don't bother me much and I am golfing OK so we will leave well enough alone for now, at least.
I have my annual medical next week with my GP and will discus it with him too. Did the blood work today, and since the Lab is across from Tim Horton's and I had to fast, guess where I went. There I ran into the my old staff from the computer dept, so had a nice chat with them.
Tonight I was again at Davids as we continue building the two rooms he is putting in the basement. Lewis studded in one wall while he was here and showed us how it is done. We are continuing.
I see by his blog that he is home. Now he is going to lose weight down to 170 lbs. If he keeps this up he will be just a shadow of his former self. He says he may have to go abroad to get a girl though.
Carolyn is fine, she quite enjoyed being out in the rig. She could easily live in it full time I think. She has had a bit of joint and back pain. Maybe she should go back on the coated aspirin that she used to take for her Rheumatoid Arthritis, which the doctor is not so sure that she has. However, something is causing the pain and the Aspirin worked. She will be seeing him soon to straighten that out. Otherwise, she is doing fine.
Well enough chatter, to bed, to bed, perhaps to sleep.
