Just two more days and the Prairie dog couple will be arriving for a visit of a few days, prior to our Cruise to Alaska.

We moved the motorhome to Joyce's driveway, a couple of doors down. She has a nice long driveway, and she lets us use it periodically. She is a good old Winnipeg Girl, lives alone since her husband died. She is away for most of the summer in her Boler Trailer, so we moved in so we can do a few things to the motorhome and get it ready for the Prairie dog couple to live in. They could use our spare bedroom, but Dennis says their all night, noise love-making sessions would keep us up. Good thing I have jacks on the motorhome, the neighbours shouldn't notice.

We just came back from a visit with Lyn, Alan, Rachel, and Adam. They are all fine. Their gardens are looking good. I got to talk to Rachel about her parachuting she did a couple of weeks ago. She took a course and did her first jump, which was a solo jump too. She loved it and plans on a few more jumps. Crazy if you ask me to jump out of perfectly serviceable airplane. She says she is going to Bungy jump this summer too. It is her adventuresome summer she says.

While there Dakota contacted Rachel online (MSN messenger) and we got to see Dakota, Charlene, Cheyenne, Sierra and Shawnee on their web cam. The Barbers don't have a web cam so it was one way, but it was good to see them. Glad to see the web cam working. Now all I have to do is connect with them from my computer. I don't have MSN (I got rid of it), but we should be able to connect on Yahoo IM. We'll have to give it a go.

TTFN folks.

Had my visit with the orthopedic surgeon, on Tuesday. He wants an MRI before proceeding, then, if necessary, he will try a Cortisone shot, before the last resort of surgery. Fine with me. By the time all that happens, it will probably be healed. I have been exercising the shoulder and I have been back on the golf course and driving range, and it feels fine.

Otherwise, just been looking at clothes in prep for packing. Carolyn has to try on just about every piece of clothing she has, then she makes me try on all of mine. Then we go shopping anyways.

Tomorrow, we bottle some wine and bring the motorhome home. Or at least Joyces driveway nearby. She is gone for a month or two with her trailer so her driveway is free for us to use. So time to wash it, clean it, and otherwise do some servicing this weekend. The prairie dogs come in next Tuesday. Hope this sun and hot weather holds. 85 F the past two days. Nice.

Been Yahoo-doodling with Dennis and Jack periodically this week. My Mother has an appointment with an oncologist June 15th. He will check out the dermatologist preliminary diagnosis of B-cell Lymphoma (Non-Hogkins disease). All other physical symptoms right now are minor. She will be scheduled for a CAT scan too.

Well folks Thats That For Now or TTFN.

Just a week away until Dennis and Catherine arrive. Pack lightly guys, humping big bags around for 3 weeks can be tiring. Just a dozen sleeps from the Alask Cruise, can hardly wait.

Been following the Kirkwood blog. They are out on an apparently cold, wet and wind East Coast cruising around Virginny. Drive careful guys.

We just came in from a week at Mary Hill. The work parties went well. We didn't get all the trees planted but most everything else was done. Andy and Chris were buzzing around on Excavators and Bobcats most of the time doing the heavy stuff, like laying culverts to divert some of the water under the road. The BBQ went well with a good turnout.

The next few days we will be getting ready for the Winnipeg Ousey's arrival. I have a couple of medical appts to keep. The Scalp Psoriasis trial and the orthoepedic surgeon for my shoulder. I hope I get a pass there and not have to go under the knife.

Thats about it folks, keep those blogs coming.

Friday evening, we attended our annual Chinese food feast with the cruise group at the Ofner's and as usual it was great. Jean sure can cook Chinese. Carolyn provided dessert this year and she made a fluffy strawberry something or other that was delish. Sunday we had Sue and John Hutchins over for dinner. BBQ'd steaks n stuff, very nice along with some good home made vino, cab/merlot that Carolyn made.

Today I go to my first appointment with the "scalp psoriasis" trial, after which I pick up the tickets for our Alaska Cruise, which will occur June 5th with my brother Dennis and his wife Catherine. Getting anxious, we are.

Later today we are heading out to Mary Hill Campground for a week. This coming long weekend is our camping club's cleanup weekend. So if anyone wants to contact us use our cell number, however, we are not that far and will be into the house probably every second day, to do email and check voicemails.

Mike called from the great white north (good thing we have Mother's day). All is well at New Aiyansh. Kids are over the colds and flus they had earlier in the year. Charlene's coffeeshop is holding its own, but they are looking at ways to increase the clientele. Maybe she'll blog and let us know how their making out (hint, hint). Mike took a fall on his mountain bike (Damn roots!)and is suffering from cracked ribs.. Ouch, been there done that, not fun. He is into fixing bicycles, and arranging rides. Always got something on the go that one. Good to hear from them.

I got my Gold Care Card so its "official" I am a Senior, funny I don't feel it, weelll, OK sometimes I do.

Shoot, (that's sh*t, with two O's)

My Bachelor days are almost over. Carolyn comes home today. I can eat again ho ho. Actually my kids spoiled me. Friday (Apr-29) I was at Alan and Lyn's for dinner (BBQ steak), Fri last David and Tena had me over (Ribs)and last night Noni and Chelsea had me over (BBQ steak) do my kids know me or what. So that along with a couple of restaurant meals, plus some of my own fine cooking I can safely say that I didn't lose any weight.

I even got most of the "honey-do" list done. New valences over the living room curtains and repainted a dresser, being the main ones. This despite I put my back out the day after she left, she will be impressed, surprised is more likely.

Rob was in town for a couple of days, managed to see him for a couple of hours and that was it, enough time to exchange a few war stories and he's off back to Vancouver. Sue has clearance for their long trip, so they will soon be off on the road for a year.

Dennis, Jack and I did a Yahoo session with Carolyn and my Mom at Dennis' place. Kind of neat for Mother's day. They seemed to have a nice day at Dennis', with flowers for the lady's and a Roast Beast Dinner and Jeanne's cake for Dessert. Happy Mother's day all Mom's.

Well I better go and clean up this place, wouldn't want Carolyn to think I was messy, like she doesn't know that already ggl.

I don't have a hit counter, but I could guess at 9.

Keep blogging all (that'd be 3 of us right)

Humanism has many qualities such as this from the British Humanist Assoc.

Humanists are non-religious people who live by moral principles based on reason and respect for others, not obedience to dogmatic rules. They promote happiness and fulfilment in this life because they believe it's the only one we have. Humanists believe in treating other people as they would like to be treated themselves, not in stereotyping or discriminating against entire groups of people. That means trying to understand other people and imagine how they might be feeling, and treating them with consideration.

Carolyn had a good visit in Ottawa, from what I can tell from a couple of phone calls I've had. The wedding went very well, despite the torrential rain they had all day. Air Canada had lost her bag, but she got it the next morning, to add insult to injury, it was torn too. She has since left Ottawa and is now at her cousin Bettys in Winnipeg. Her bag made it with her all the way this time, with much tape hold the split closed. She will be there until day after Mother's day. She will be spending that day with my Mom, probably at Dennis and Catherine's place. She said she nearly froze in Ottaw, though her last day there was good. Looks good in Winnipeg, it was 20 C (68 F) there yesterday.

Weather had be variable here. Mostly nice, interspersed with a few showers. Have been managing being a temporary bachelor. Only been out for two suppers. Saw "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". What a hoot. Stayed pretty close to the book, as far as I can tell, since I read the book some 20 years ago. Must get and read it again. I quite enjoyed it, though I could see some not "getting it!". Just remember the answer to the meaning of life and everthing is "42".

Tomorrow is my Ultrasound on my arm. Hope they can actually find out something. Orthopedic Surgeon appt. on the 25th of the month. Hey Dennis, I signed up for a Medical trial too. I'll be partipating in a "Scalp Psoriasis" testing a new Gel treatment. With my luck I'll get the placebo. This will take 8 weeks, and it starts in 2 weeks.

Good luck with your, exercise, weight and internet dating Lew.

Well that's about it that's fit to print. TTFN Keep those blogs coming

Say Dennis: Do you think we should wait for the Gomery commissions report before Paul Martin goes to the electorate?

You look good on TV, cept it puts on a few pounds.

I picked up Ben Friday, so David and Tena could have a "fun" weekend in Vancouver. My job was to take him to Lyns who had him Friday night and part of Saturday. Then Lyn took him to Noni's on Saturday and Noni had him until Sunday. Sounds complicated, but David had a sitter arranged but it fell through, so family came through so they could have some time alone. Hope it worked out. I dropped him off and Lyn and Alan invited me for dinner, steaks, real thick and other stuff. It was great, at least I didn't have to cook for myself.

I hurt my back diggin around the trunk so I have had my back brace on for the rest of the weekend. Getting better just about now.

Going to see " the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" tomorrow. Should be fun.

Nitey Nite.
